Activities are of abundance here at Howdy's. Young or Old, Rain or Shine, there is always something to do here.
Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Fishing, Relaxing are just a few of the activities available to you. Come early in the season for some awesome fishing or bring the family for some summer fun in July and August. Stay into the fall for the Hunting season or just to enjoy the glorious colors around the Lake.
Hunting
If Hunting is more to your liking, the Chilcotions offer an abundance of Game such as Moose, Deer, Bear and a variety of Ducks, Geese and other Fowl. September to November are your best shot for this activity, although Spring Bears are avidly pursued.
Recreation
Recreation is a four Season Word at our Resort.
Many activities are available to the Nature Buffs. Bird watching and Wildlife observation can in many cases be done from the front Porch of your Cabin, as well as from many of our Trails. Be it on foot or ATV. Swimming, hiking, Biking, Canoeing and Kayaking, are just a few of the enjoyments available. There is always plenty to do for Kids of all ages, be it a game of Horseshoes or just hanging on the Playground, all of your Outdoor Dreams can come true here.
Puntzi Lake
Located in the heart of Chilcotion Country, most of the shoreline of this 7 mile(10km) long Lake is totally unspoiled by man. A canoe or Boat trip along the Shore will reveal an arrary of wildlife, and one can watch the Eagles soar through the brilliant blue Sky or perched patiently on a treetop awaiting to display their fishing skills.
Fishing
Puntzi Lake is well known for it's many different species of fish. Among them. the prized Kokanee Salmon which can run over 2 lbs (1kg), the much sought after Rainbow and Girard Trout as well as the Rocky Mountain White Fish. For our younger Guests, there is an abundance of Columbia River Chum and other coarse fish to challenge their Skills.
Winter
If Winter is more to your liking, we offer accommodations for those who like to partake in Cross Country Skiing or Skating on the Lake, Ice Fishing, Snowmobiling or just lounging by the fire. Relaxation is the key word here.
This is the perfect place for an old fashioned, non stressfull down home country Christmas. Just bring yourselfs….and let us take care of the rest…..(advance notice is required )
